Biography
Insurance Coverage Litigation & Advice
Gil regularly litigates and provides advice as to complex coverage disputes across multiple product lines, including commercial general liability, umbrella/excess liability, pollution/environmental liability, professional liability, media, and other specialty risk policies. He has advised insurers on high exposure claims involving construction defect, product liability and mass tort, product contamination/recall, and long-tail environmental contamination, including PCBs, MTBE, and PFAS. Gil represents his clients in state and federal courts as well as before U.S. and UK-based arbitration panels, including under the Bermuda Form, in resolution of insurance coverage and bad faith disputes.
Business Litigation
Gil is an experienced complex commercial litigator, with a background in health care insurance fraud and construction defect matters.
He is the author of several articles on insurance coverage litigation issues, including covered and uncovered claims, federal and state telemarketing regulations, Superstorm Sandy-related bad faith claims, and the application of the fraud and dishonesty exclusion for purposes of errors and omissions coverage.

- Construction Defect Claim: Advised owner controlled insurance program insurer in connection with resolving construction defect claim concerning multi-unit condominium development in South Carolina.
- Advised Contractor Controlled Insurance Program Carrier: Provides coverage advice to the contractor controlled insurance program carrier for a Washington state construction project in connection with multi-million dollar property damage claims.
- 2014 Chemical Spill into Elk River: Counseled domestic and international excess insurers in connection with multiple cases filed in state and federal courts arising out of a 2014 chemical spill into the Elk River in West Virginia.
