International law firm DAC Beachcroft's Specialist Liability practice is delighted to welcome the highly regarded and Partner-led team of Kate Prestidge, Joanne Hallmark and Avneet Sahota to its CSG business. Kate joins as a Partner, Joanne as a Legal Director and Avneet as a Solicitor.
Kate, Joanne and Avneet join from Gallagher Bassett where Kate led the Sensitive Claims and Safeguarding team. They all join DACB's Specialist Liability team and will be based in London.
Kate has specialised in claims arising from alleged child and adult abuse and neglect, as well as child protection and safeguarding issues, for over 18 years. She had shaped and led Gallagher Bassett's Sensitive Claims and Safeguarding team since 2022.
Her practice covers sensitive, often high profile claims involving child and adult sexual abuse, care home neglect and the premature deaths of vulnerable adults, claims involving the suicide and attempted suicide of children and young people in care, as well as advising on breaches of the Human Rights Act. She has handled complex claims arising from child sexual abuse which have involved issues of child sexual exploitation, county-line gangs and modern slavery. She played a significant part in drafting, implementing and operating a national, multi-million-pound redress scheme on behalf of a London Local Authority which provided compensation to survivors who had suffered abuse at one of the largest children's homes in Europe.
Craig Godding, Partner and Head of CSG's Strategic Practice, said, "We are committed to continuing to strengthen our Specialist Liability offering to our public, private and voluntary sector clients and their insurers. Kate and her team are highly skilled in handling these types of specialist, often highly sensitive claims and will considerably enhance our capabilities in this area. We're delighted to welcome them to CSG."
Lucy Harris, Head of the Specialist Liability Claims team at DACB, said, "We are very excited to have Kate, Joanne and Avneet on board. The breadth of their practice, strong connections and reputation in the market will further enhance our offering to clients."
Kate added, "It is an exciting time to be joining CSG's Specialist Liability team, given its ambitions to build this practice area and our shared passion to deliver exemplary client service within this complex and niche practice area of the law."
