    Giles specialises in professional indemnity insurance and, in particular, defending claims against construction professionals such as architects, engineers and Design & Build contractors. Giles has 20 years' experience in dealing with litigation in the Technology and Construction Court, arbitration, adjudication and mediation. He also regularly provides policy coverage advice to insurers. He frequently writes about, and presents seminars on, construction and insurance law issues. He has also been involved with drafting policy wordings and providing advice on wordings. He is an active member of the Society of Construction Law.

    Giles also specialises in claims against education establishments, primarily schools and universities. He has handled a number of claims in the SEND Tribunal.

    Giles has been ranked in both the Legal 500 and Chambers directories for the past few years.
